We bought Ancrum Craig in 1976, moving from Edinburgh to a traditional country house, off the beaten track in the magnificent Scottish Borders
country side. We wanted to run a B&B and keep a dog and horses. For 30 years we have offered quality B&B for those who seek a short break,
relaxation, and tranquillity. We have enjoyed sharing the ambience of our home.
We spent many years pursuing dressage, carriage driving, and cross country competition with our beloved horses. Now they have gone and
we enjoy the peace and quiet .We are keen on local wildlife, and have planted hundreds of trees on our 8 acres. The garden is keeping us busy
and the hens provide us with fresh eggs for our quality Scottish breakfasts.
In 1999 we bought a small apartment in Edinburgh for our daughter Erica for her study at university. Later, the Edinburgh city centre location,
with off-street parking, proved ideal for vacation rental; it is safe, close to the main tourist attractions but without the crowds,
noise and hassle. In 2006 we bought Pamela’s apartment in the adjacent block, which has a parking garage.
