About Us

We bought Ancrum Craig in 1976 after spending weekends trail-riding in the Borders and falling in love with the magnificent Borders countryside. For 20 years we offered B&B for the fun of meeting people and sharing the ambiance of Ancrum Craig. Then St Cuthbert’s Way, a long-distance walk, was established, and we decided to open a second B&B in Ancrum village.
Our best fun has been with horses, which we rode and drove for 22 years, and we have always enjoyed having a dog around. We are enthusiastic about our local wildlife, and have planted hundreds of trees on our 8 acres, some of which are now fully grown. We are keen to protect our environment and use eco-friendly products wherever possible.
